Morristown Memorial Hospital

EEWS Unique Building Exteriors Easily Accommodated Morristown Hospital Needs

  • City, State: Morristown, NJ
  • Architect: Francis Cauffman Architects
  • Finished Cladding Material: Brick, Limestone, Aluminum Composite
  • System Type: Barrier

Description: Atlantic Health's Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Memorial Hospital is a "top 100" in the nation and sits in historic Morristown, NJ. A design challenge required installing the exterior wall in the middle of this busy campus with no lay-down space while preserving the architectural heritage of classic cladding materials existing in this historic community. EEWS was brought in early and working collaboratively with the Architect and CM produced a prefabricated exterior enclosure of brick and limestone with accents of composite aluminum. Visual interest is added to the brick wall by recessing the vertical column elements to the interior of the horizontal spandrel elements.
